Definition: Collège d’enseignement général et professionnel in French. A public general and vocational college, known as cégep, offering two-year pre-university programs and three-year technical programs leading to a Diplôme d’études collègial (DEC), or Diploma of College Studies (DCS), as well as shorter technical programs leading to an Attestation d’études collégiales (AEC), or Attestation of College Studies (ACS). Some private, subsidized colleges offer the same programs.
