Inform the applicant of the assessment outcome

Provide the assessment outcome to the applicant, including the terminology used, rights conferred, and guidance on next steps.

 

  • Update the status of the application and provide the assessment outcome (e.g., statement, report, letter), in physical and/or digital form, to the applicant and the designated third-party user (if applicable). The outcome may contain information such as:
    • the academic credential submitted for assessment;
    • the type of documents submitted (e.g., official documents);
    • the purpose of the assessment;
    • the comparable academic credential in Canada;
    • the rights (or level of authority) conferred by the assessment outcome to the applicant, which may be:
      • a recognition decision (e.g., admission to an academic program);
      • an expert, nonbinding opinion, to assist third-party users in making recognition decisions;
    • references for the terminology used in the assessment outcome (if necessary).
  • Provide guidance to the applicant on next steps, such as:
    • the process for forwarding the official assessment outcome to third-party users;
    • the process for requesting additional copies of the official assessment outcome;
    • alternative pathways to recognition and the process for appealing the assessment outcome (see step 6.2).
