Examine the applicant’s identity and educational chronology

Examine the applicant’s demographic information and educational chronology for consistency.

  • Confirm the applicant’s essential demographic information appearing on identification and educational documents, such as:
    • name (current and any previous);
    • date of birth;
    • country of birth;
    • address (current and previous, when available).
  • Sort all documents by date (if applicable) in order to learn about the applicant’s educational chronology.
  • Compare the essential demographic information against the overall educational chronology to confirm an expected, coherent pattern, or to identify inconsistencies that deserve further investigation, such as:
    • non-identical demographic information;
    • an irregular or atypical academic pathway from one academic credential to the next;
    • overlapping periods of study;
    • different physical locations of the applicant and the educational institution offering a traditional academic program.
