About the spring 2015 session

In February 2015, CICIC launched Assessment 101, an on-line distance-education course designed specifically for the pan-Canadian community of academic credential assessors. The initial course was offered:
  • on a pilot basis;
  • in both official languages;
  • to over 60 academic assessors;
  • over the course of two months.

The University of Manitoba's Centre for Higher Education Research and Development hosted the CICIC Assessment 101 course using its on-line distance-education platform.

The course culminated in a two-day in-person workshop held in Toronto on April 23 and 24, 2015.

What is Assessment 101?

Assessment 101 is an on-line distance-education course with a two-day in-person workshop at the end of the session.

It gives participants an overview of the foundations of international academic credential assessment in order to supplement the on-the-job training that assessors receive.
